WORCESTER — The cannabis industry is starting to take root on the Cape and Islands as several more local businesses received final license approvals Thursday from the state Cannabis Control Commission.
Hennep Inc., a retail marijuana store in Provincetown; CCC Wellfleet NV LLC, a retail store in Wellfleet; Emerald Grove, a retail store in Eastham; and ACK Natural, a medical marijuana dispensary on Nantucket, all were given the green light by the agency that oversees cannabis businesses in the state at its monthly meeting on Thursday.
The businesses will have to go through final inspections by the commission before opening.
New Cape Cod dispensary and retail pot shops
The Cape currently has two retail marijuana shops in Provincetown and a medical dispensary in Mashpee. The additional Cape businesses are part of a growing list, as several more shops are in the permitting pipeline on the Outer and Lower Cape, where most towns allow recreational marijuana businesses.
Triple M, which owns the medical dispensary in Mashpee, plans to open a retail store at the same site. CCC Wellfleet NV LLC, colloquially known
