Human Resources Manager – LeafLine Labs, LLC – West Saint Paul, MN

Leafline Industries owns and operates LeafLine Labs, and Leafline Wellness. LeafLine Labs is one of two registered medical cannabis manufacturers in Minnesota. We focus on using controlled environment agriculture to produce various strains of cannabis that is turned into extraction-based medicine. LeafLine Wellness is a CBD products company engaged in the acquisition and production of hemp derived CBD and related consumer products.

Minnesota law requires that any employee of LeafLine Labs be at least 21 years of age and free of any disqualifying felony convictions. Prior to beginning employment with LeafLine Labs, every employee is legally required to submit to a background check conducted by the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).

Job Duties:

  • Develop and administer HR plans and procedures related to company personnel
  • Plan, organize and control the activities and actions of the HR department
  • Develop HR department goals, objectives and systems
  • Knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
  • Ensure job descriptions are up-to-date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations
  • Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
  • Plan and facilitate employee orientation, development and training
  • Develop, revise and recommend personnel policies and procedures
  • Maintain and revise the policies and procedures in the company’s handbook
  • Develop, analyze and update the company’s evaluation program
  • Manage employment compliance and reporting with all local, state and federal regulations
  • Organize & maintain employee personnel files in accordance with current regulatory requirements
  • Liaison between company’s management and employees
  • Manage and administer employee compensation and benefits in accordance with company policies
  • Administer additions, changes or terminations with employee compensation and benefits in the company’s payroll system
  • Manage employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policies
  • Manage and oversee employee exit interviews
  • Oversee and manage the daily workflow of the HR department
  • Supervise, guide and support the HR Generalist in their job function
  • Perform related duties as assigned by leader

Essential Requirements:

  • Knowledge of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, hiring and employee relations with the ability to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations
  • Strong knowledge and experience with employment and labor laws, conflict resolution, compensation strategy and other human resources programs
  • Proven experience with the administration and management of employee compensation and benefits
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, management and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Excellent computer skills with demonstrated ability in database management and record keeping
  • Proven high level of confidentiality

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or Organization Development
  • Minimum four years of progressive leadership experience in HR preferred
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training and preventive labor relations
  • Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred
