Ramsey County authorities have charged 36-year-old Arramond Riqie Yojhan Mims with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct-fear of great bodily harm, and injury by use of force/coercion.
He is also charged with two felony counts of domestic assault.
The criminal complaint graphically details several forced sexual acts that involved strangulation and physical harm.
The victim met with police at least two times in December 2017 regarding repeated unwanted sexual encounters and strangulation, according to court documents.
The victim said she started dating Mims in April last year, but had tried to break up with him since October when he was arrested for domestic assault in Minneapolis, the criminal complaint states.
She also reportedly shared that she obtained an order for protection the day after his arrest, but discovered she was pregnant a few weeks later.
She tried dropping the order for protection, but the judge initially denied her request, the criminal complaint reports.
The judge did dismiss the order on Nov. 20, and the victim reportedly told investigators she suffered a miscarriage Thanksgiving weekend.
The criminal complaint states that abuse continued in December, and the victim said she repeatedly asked Mims to stop.
The victim told authorities Mims would use ecstasy, marijuana and pills, including narcotics, which made him act “irritable, crazy and erratic,” according to the criminal complaint.
Court documents state Mims was convicted in 2009 of first-degree assault relating to a case in Minneapolis, and he was also convicted of violating an order for protection in Edina in 2008, which is a felony.
Court documents note that since Mims had these convictions in the past 10 years, the domestic assault charges related to this new case escalate to a felony.
Those with information on Mims’ whereabouts should notify authorities.
